Business Boost funding
Whanganui & Partners is providing a quarterly Business Boost funding round to assist start-ups and businesses with growth plans.
Applications for Business Boost are now open. Applicants to the funding will be assessed against set criteria and two selected each quarter will receive $2500 in service support and $1250 worth of mentoring or business coaching. Applications close on June 28.
Business Start-up Information Sessions
Our free Business Start-up Information Sessions provide a perfect point to begin your business journey, whether you are looking to turn an idea into a successful business or are wanting to grow your start-up or new business.
Hosted each month by our business team, these 60-minute sessions are designed to provide you with information, resources and practical tools to help you develop your business idea.

Entrepreneur Meet-ups
This regular meet-up for Whanganui’s entrepreneur community will be held throughout the year.
These eight Entrepreneur Meet-ups will provide updates on local projects, introduce newcomers to the entrepreneurial space, and allow input to a start-up calendar and programmes.
These meet-ups are held at the The Backhouse, on the corner of Drews Ave and Taupō Quay.
Innovate Whanganui 2022
This annual accelerator competition is focused on finding awesome people with amazing ideas. Applications to Innovate Whanganui 2022 have now closed.
Successful applicants will take part in a “first pitch” night, which will result in a Top 5 being chosen. The Top 5 will then enter a 10-week accelerator programme, beginning in June, including seed funding and mentorship.
The accelerator programme will culminate in the Top 5 pitching to judges on finals night in August 25, where the overall winner will take home $10k towards their business venture.
