Lights on Bikes

This spectacular event is equally exciting for bikers and spectators. Creative minds and practical types combine their skills to maximum effect.

Friday, June 25, 6pm-9.30pm

Lights on Bikes is returning with more amazing light installations, performances and the ever-popular bicycle parade. Gather your lights, decorate your wheels and yourselves and be a part of the brightest parade in town.

Bicycles, scooters, roller skates, wheelchairs, skateboards, prams, unicycles and many more wheeled contraptions are welcome.

This year there is a special twist to make the night even more memorable. The Whanganui District Council’s Town Centre Regeneration team and Lights on Bikes will combine for an amazing street party for the new Drews Ave streetscape.

There will be food trucks, live music, face painting and more to enjoy while exploring the clever and creative changes being trialled through central government’s Innovating Streets fund to boost Drews Avenue’s status as the hub of Whanganui’s creative community.

This is a free, all ages event. Get your friends and family together for a night of illumination and fun.

Please note: If the weather is unsuitable on Friday, 25 June, the event will be held on Saturday, 26 June.
