Business Support Administrator

Whanganui & Partners has an exciting opportunity for the right person to support our Administration Team as our Business Support Administrator

Whanganui & Partners is the economic development agency for Whanganui. We promote Whanganui as a destination to live, visit, work, study and invest. Our activities include supporting new and existing businesses, bringing events to Whanganui and providing the latest economic data, analysis and commentary on the Whanganui district.

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Administration Manager; this Permanent, part-time position is responsible for providing day to day operational, financial and administrative support to the Whanganui & Partners team.

You’ll take accountability for a variety of tasks including the following:

  • Preparing and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Reconciling accounts in Xero and verifying recorded transactions and investigating irregularities.
  • Handling day to day financial transactions
  • PAYE, GST and INC tax planning and administration including liaison with the IRD
  • Processing Staff Time-Sheets, leave management and payroll deductions

 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally:

  • Demonstrate a high level of experience across generalist accounting tasks and Xero
  • Have strong knowledge of NZ payroll/ACC legislation.
  • Have a solid understanding of accounts payable, payment processes and bank reconciliations and the month end process
  • You will be highly organised and able to manage your time effectively
  • Have strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
