Project Support Coordinator – full-time Are you keen to be involved in an exciting new project that will help our economy grow and put Whanganui on the map? Do you know what Whanganui start-up businesses need to help them get off the ground and really succeed?

Whanganui & Partners is looking for the right person to help us develop our local business start-up training and support.

Reporting to the Strategic Lead – Business, you’ll work on identifying and mapping our start-up ecosystem, identify the key pathways our local start-ups take on the way to success. You’ll look at where there are gaps in training and support, and provide recommendations on with whom, and how, we can best fill those gaps.

You’ll also help get our exciting new initiative, called The Backhouse, up and running operationally.

You will have a good knowledge of what it takes for start-up businesses to be successful and preferably have networks within the Whanganui business start-up community. National or international knowledge in this area is also advantageous.

To be successful in the role, you will need to be able to draw information from a range of different stakeholders and compile it to form a coherent picture of our start-up ecosystem. You will also need to research and develop operational policies for The Backhouse.

The role is until Feb 2022.

Whanganui is growing, has a vibrant business community and a strong sense of where it is heading. You will have a key role to play in this exciting shift as you help start new businesses and grow Whanganui’s economy.
