Whanganui War Memorial Centre
The War Memorial Centre can cater to up to 1,300 people. Parking is free, with space for 120 cars. There is free wifi in the building. Specialised lighting, projectors, screens, audio equipment and microphones are all available for hire.
Cooks Gardens Events Centre
Cooks Gardens is home to a lot of local history, having been used as a sporting venue since 1896. The Peter Snell Lounge can accommodate up to 200 guests and features abundant natural light, while the corporate boxes make perfect break out rooms.
Royal Whanganui Opera House
Built in 1899, this gorgeous Victorian theatre was once the height of sophistication (it was the fourth theatre in the world to have electric lights). The 830 seat theatre is still an impressive venue for performances, seminars, award ceremonies and keynote presentations. Break out spaces can be set up backstage.
Wanganui Function Centre
The Wanganui Jockey Club was first established in New Zealand in 1848. Situated in the racecourse grounds just 4-5 blocks from the Whanganui city centre, this modern, comfortable venue can accommodate up to 500 guests. Ample parking is available and the spacious grounds can accommodate an outdoor event or large display.
The Kingsgate
The Kingsgate is a 58-room hotel with a number of venue options, from a conference room that can accommodate 180 people to a private boardroom. The hotel also offers in-house catering and has a bar that can be hired for cocktail receptions.
Quality Inn Collegiate And Econo Lodge
The Quality Inn Collegiate is a 28-room hotel close to the city centre and Wanganui’s main street, Victoria Avenue. This hotel has two ground-floor conference rooms with a number of facilities for hire.

Anndion Lodge enjoys a quiet, picturesque location and conference facilities offer views of the river and a private outdoor courtyard, making it a relaxing setting for conferences, meetings, training sessions, team building and staff retreats. The Anndion is just five minutes from the city centre and has 21 rooms of accommodation.

Bushy Park Homestead
Bushy Park Homestead is a historical homestead located in Bushy Park Sanctuary. The charming heritage building and surrounding park makes it a unique and venue for corporate functions, conferences and team retreats. Accommodation is available for up to 22 people.
Heritage House
The stunning Edwardian building in downtown Whanganui was built in 1912 and declared the “best building in the Empire” at the time. The venue has only gotten more elegant with age and is a stunning location for corporate events and functions.
