WPS Art in the Garden 2025

Join the Whanganui Potters Studio and invited exhibitors for their annual celebration of ceramics and outdoor art. Taking place 29th and 30th November from 10-4pm at 15a Caversham Rd. WPS members and invited exhibitors set up stalls scattered around a beautiful garden setting. The general public visit to admire and purchase the diverse art on display. You'll even find a little bit of non-outdoor art.

Art in the Garden is Whanganui Potters Studio’s main fundraiser for the year. Whanganui Potters Studio (WPS) members volunteer their time to run the entire weekend. WPS take a small commission on sales which keeps the club costs low, and helps them provide activities and events to local communities and schools. WPS is a registered charity & non-profit community club.

Visitors will find a wide range of clay-based activities on offer. Those interested in trying pottery can have a go at wheel throwing or hand-building with clay. Kids are very welcome to take part, and the club have noticed they love it. If visitors make something they really love, the studio can fire it for you. For those not in a making mood, just watch one of the members putting on a creative demonstration.

Try out raku, the fiery and volatile Japanese ceramic tradition. If smoke and flames are not your speed, there will be a variety of garden plants and flowers available to buy.

Lovely Cuppa is a strictly limited collection of handmade cups and mugs made by WPS members. They are sold at extremely reasonable prices, and 100% of profits go towards the club.

Live music, face painting, sizzling snags, cakes made by professional grandmas, a club raffle with amazing prizes and more.

Pop Art in the Garden in your calendar. The last weekend of November.

See you there, but remember, please leave your pets at home.
