International engagements lead to enrolments
Japanese education providers and students are booking Whanganui visits following successful international education engagements with local secondary schools.

Free Lean events
- Lean Induction: This free 2-hour monthly Lean induction session is hosted onsite by a Lean Group business and is open to all Lean Group members. Facilitated by continuous improvement expert Darcy Mellsop from ci labs, this is a “light touch” introduction to Lean practices for staff at all levels, using real examples of Lean in action.
- Lean Group Site Visits: These free monthly site visits allow businesses to network and share insights on Lean initiatives, offering a platform for collective learning and support.
1:1 Lean support
The Lean Group offers selected businesses access to discounted 1:1 support through ci labs. These businesses hold private 1-day workshops and follow-up sessions and host a site visit and induction once.
- 1-Day Workshop: ci labs’ intensive 1-day workshops include your business’ key senior and middle management personnel. Together, they create a tailored Lean action plan with objectives for the next six weeks of Lean implementation.
- Workshop Follow-Ups: Follow-up sessions are held to provide ongoing guidance and support ensuring progress and development in implementing Lean practices.
About ci labs, our Lean provider
The Lean Group is supported by ci lab, a team of continuous improvement experts led by Darcy Mellsop. Darcy facilitates Lean inductions and site visits, providing businesses with hands-on guidance to apply Lean strategies in their operations. ci labs also offers 1-day intensive workshops for selected Lean Group members, where senior and middle management teams create a custom Lean action plan to implement within their businesses.
